Main duties of the job
Talking Therapies Oldham are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed qualified PWP to join their highly successful and motivated team. For the role, you must have a Diploma/Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological interventions in order to provide high volume, low intensity CBT interventions for people with common mental health problems. Assessments and interventions may be delivered face to face, via the telephone or in groups. Good written and communication skills need to be of a high standard along with the ability to work flexibly, including flexible working from home.
Working for our organisation
Talking Therapies Oldham is part of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Programme and offers assessment and treatment for people referred via their GP or through a self-referral pathway, with common mental health problems. The service works with adults aged 16 and above, from various cultural backgrounds.
The service is made up of a multidisciplinary team, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Counsellors, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Primary Care Mental Health Nurses, Psychologists and Admin staff.

Person specification
Education and qualifications
* Holds an IAPT approved PWP qualification.
* Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
* Psychology or other health-related undergraduate degree.
Experience
* Experience of working as a psychological wellbeing practitioner.
* Experience of routine outcome monitoring.
* Experience of working in the local community.
* Evidence of working in the local community.
Knowledge
* Demonstrated an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it presents in primary care.
* Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health and employment.
* Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation.
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems.
* Demonstrates an understanding of the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to meet agreed/service targets.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time.
* Demonstrates high standards in verbal and written communication.
* Ability to write clear reports and letters.
* Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice.
* Ability to provide services in a variety of settings.

What happens after your application has been received?

What happens if I am offered the position after the interview?
The hiring manager will make contact with you to verbally offer you the position. The hiring manager will then inform Recruitment of the decision and provide relevant paperwork. You will be sent a formal conditional offer via email.
What pre-employment checks will I need to complete?
By conducting pre-employment checks, the recruitment team will verify that you meet the pre-conditions of the role you have been offered. Pre-employment checks will be carried out according to NHS Employment Check Standards. The checks are:
* Identity verification.
* Right to work check.
* Disclosure and barring service (DBS)/Criminal record check (dependent on role).
* Professional registration and/or qualification check.
* Occupational health assessment.
* Employment history and reference validation.
All applicants external to NHS will be required to provide HMRC employment history to cover the most recent three years. This information will be used to validate employment history and references as part of pre-employment checks.

What happens when pre-employment checks are complete?
