An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Manager to join our team. Modular Ward is a 20 bedded Care of the Elderly ward. We provide care to patients over 65 and treat a wide variety of medical conditions. We also have a responsibility to ensure the safety of our patients after discharge by arranging a safe discharge destination. It is especially important when caring for elderly patients that our team assess the person holistically, taking into account their medical, social, emotional and spiritual needs. We work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure these needs are met.
The Deputy Ward Manager will work clinically, providing leadership and support to colleagues and role modelling behaviors and attitudes in line with the Trust's behavioral standards. They will also support the Ward Manager in some administration duties, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Main duties of the job
As an experienced nurse you will work both clinically as a member of the nursing team providing clinical advice, expertise and leadership to all staff and in partnership with the ward managers. You will be called upon to deputize in the ward manager's absence to ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of care at all times.
