Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our team working offshore in the Southern North Sea. Working within a team of multi-skilled technicians, you will be responsible for maintaining safety critical lifting equipment across any of our assets. Flexibility will be required as you could be working on a manned asset, Walk to Work or part of our intervention team. Ideally, the successful individual will have experience of working with a variety of offshore cranes.
This position will work a 2/2 rotation mobilising out of Norwich.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsibility to co-ordinate and communicate with external vendors, management, and the onshore Cranes & Lifting department to ensure the safe operation and day-to-day running of the asset cranes.
2. Monitor lifting operations, to confirm compliance with LOLER, PUK and industry safety procedures.
3. Perform scheduled mechanical maintenance on cranes and their ancillary items, winches, engines, etc. in accordance with approved maintenance routines.
4. Be able to competently carry out/assist with larger mechanical maintenance scopes, winch change outs, hydraulic ram replacements, hydraulic hose changeouts, etc.
5. Perform unscheduled corrective maintenance on asset cranes.
6. Ensure all safety critical activities are completed as laid down within the Maintenance Management System.
7. Able to competently fault find mechanical issues, resolve issues and effect the needed repairs.
8. Complete crane mechanical inspections and inspection recording.
9. Raising of corrective work orders & material requests.
10. Be able to understand and interpret crane manuals and drawings.
11. Monitor lifting equipment inventory and certification.
12. Liaise with the onshore Cranes & Lifting department.
Safety Critical Tasks
1. Crane Hook Block/Overhaul Ball Replacement: Comply with the competency requirements for carrying out Crane Hook block and Overhaul ball installation/replacement on our fleet of Cranes throughout SNS.
2. Crane Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems: Comply with the competency requirements for carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/replacement of components to hydraulic/pneumatic systems on cranes.
3. Crane Mechanic/Operator General: Comply with competency requirements for carrying out inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and the repair/replacement of components on our offshore cranes.
4. Crane Wire Rope: Comply with the competency requirements for carrying out wire rope installation/replacement on our fleet of cranes throughout SNS.
5. Cranes & Lifting – Rated Capacity Indicator: Ensure that the individual has a good technical knowledge of both the operation and functionality of a crane's Rated Capacity indicator.

Skills & Experience Required
1. Certified mechanical background.
2. Crane Competency Training (Stages 1-3) and have been assessed with Lifting Operations is preferred.
3. A desire to work in a multi-tasking environment.
4. Experience in the offshore/onshore Oil & Gas industry is essential.
5. The individual must be self-motivated and a good team player.
6. Knowledge of Hydraulic or Electrical systems will be beneficial.
