Safran Helicopter Engines are the world's leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines and the only one dedicated exclusively to this market. Our UK facility is the European Maintenance Centre Hub for the SHE Group, performing level 1 to level 3 maintenance and repairs on complex helicopter engine components. Our experienced teams partner with our broad, global customer base, providing both technical expertise and broader support in both the fixed wing and rotary wing markets.
The procurer / buyer / MRP controller responsibilities include creating and maintaining purchase orders for both purchased parts or services and sub-contracting activities in accordance with production requirements to meet our customers' expectations (internal & external). Coordinating and communicating with internal departments is crucial in maintaining delivery expectations and managing partner relationships. The role is to provide support and services to support the business needs ensuring product availability and maintain master data including source lists, PIR/contract agreements, LOT sizes, lead-times and on-time delivery.
Working within a team, create and manage the placement of all purchase orders within the defined supply chain. Ensure the timely supply of materials/equipment to meet programmed requirements. Expedite all open orders and align MRP exception messages according to SAP requirements. Develop and deploy Purchasing commodity strategies and ensure all goods and services are bought in line with relevant commodity strategies as defined by the strategic buyers (purchasing). Maintain healthy relationships with our partners, ensuring product availability is aligned to business/production requirements.

Job requirements
What do you need from me?
1. Ensure that products and services meet the requirements of customers, quality standards and airworthiness authorities.
2. Work in accordance with HSE legislation, the Company Operating Systems, policies and procedures.
3. Demonstrate the Company Values & Behaviours.
4. Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and working practice and take responsibility for implementing these.
5. Negotiate prices and achieve PPV (cost reduction) on purchased or sub-contracted products.
6. Responsible for maintaining SAP master data, part number and vendor master data as MRP controller for designated part numbers & commodities.
7. Own and manage the Buy Report to ensure orders are placed on time, within lead-time and in line with commodity strategies.
8. Actively manage the MRP exception message report as part of daily activities ensuring delivery requirements are adhered to.
9. Analyse each supplier's On Time delivery and Quality performance and work with suppliers and other functions as necessary to drive improvement in supplier performance.
10. Compile suppliers scorecards on a monthly basis and distribute to each key supplier where applicable in alignment with the (strategic buyer)purchaser.
11. Work with the Quality department and adhere to the supplier approval process when approving new suppliers.
12. Prioritise tasks and objectives set by Manager or team-leader on a daily basis as appropriate.
13. Participate in monthly/quarterly business reviews with the management team.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. English and Maths GCSE's grade A-C
2. Ideally CIPS
3. Strong organisational and time management skills.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. SAP knowledge and experience (MUST)
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
8. Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
9. Excellent attention to detail
10. Proven track record in a purchasing/procurement role demonstrating robustness, supply chain management.
11. Previous experience in Aerospace or engineering industry is desirable
12. Variety of commodity management
Specificity of the job
Regular travel to UK Suppliers - approximately 1 visit per month.
