How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The position of Account Manager is responsible for meeting individual sales targets by value, product type, and profitability. This will be achieved by using practical hands-on demonstration and sales skills to sell engineering and welding products, including a full suite of industrial gases to new and existing customers.
This is a solution-based sales role that requires a strong understanding of the fabrication sector, welding technology, equipment consumables, and gases. To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, your strong technical business development track record will be matched with expertise in customer relationship management.
1. Be responsible for achieving the Company's sales and profit targets for individual named accounts with some prospecting for new business.
2. Be responsible for effecting an efficient and satisfactory supply and service to customers of the company.
3. Effective planning and execution of account planning, maximizing customer-facing time and minimizing travel.
4. Compliance with company policies, in particular Health & Safety regulations.
5. Be proactive in up-selling and cross-selling the full range of product offerings.
6. Use historic data and market trends to bring innovation and new ideas to support customers' growth.
7. Take ownership of the named accounts, including dealing with client issues raised, revenue, and product mix.
8. Be responsible for the Company's assets, which are on loan or rent to customers.
9. Be the single point of contact and become their go-to person.
The above duties may involve having access to information of a confidential nature and confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Are you a MATCH?
1. Practical experience of welding, able to demonstrate welding equipment and consumables.
2. Able to advise end users on process and equipment selection.
3. Recognize the importance of shielding gases in the welding process and how that adds value to the customer.
4. Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
5. Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
6. A full, clean driving licence.
7. IT literate.
8. Strong communication skills.
9. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
10. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
11. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
12. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
13. Competency in relationship building and solution sales.
14. Field-based experience in a technical environment with either business development or account management experience.
15. A background in welding and/or industrial gases, but a minimum of industrial B2B sales experience is needed.
