An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a high-performing manufacturing team. This permanent position is ideally suited to someone who thrives on the shop floor, enjoys solving problems, has a great attention to detail and is passionate about maintaining quality from the ground up. You’ll spend approximately 70% of your time on the shop floor, carrying out inspections, using measuring equipment and supporting production teams, playing a key role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and driving continuous improvement. What You’ll Be Doing: Conducting hands-on inspections using verniers, gauges, and other measuring tools Leading root cause analysis using 5 Whys, 8D, and corrective action tracking Monitoring quality data and reporting trends to stakeholders Supporting NPI to ensure prototypes are quality tested and documented before going out to suppliers Creating and maintaining SOPs, quality alerts, and audit documentation Investigating rejects, scrap, and returns to reduce waste and improve standards Ensuring process compliance through internal audits Supporting customer audits and maintaining certification requirements What We’re Looking For: Essential: Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Attention to detail and confidence in high-precision inspection work Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments Proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems Desirable: Foundry process knowledge, especially in ductile iron Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 standards Experience supporting NPI or continuous improvement initiatives Working knowledge of Lean tools and RCA techniques
