About The Role
I am a young female adult living with my parents in our family home in Mansfield. I have an acquired brain injury which causes me to have complex epilepsy and non-epileptic seizures. I can have multiple seizures a day, and my brain injury has impacted my cognitive ability. I have always been cared for by my parents and education, but as I become an adult, I now need a team of personal assistants to support me in having more independence.
I like to have a purpose each day and need my personal assistants to be patient and understanding of my needs. I enjoy arts and crafts and watching films and sports, so having someone who would enjoy supporting that will be helpful.
I am looking to recruit a team of Personal Assistants who can support me with day-to-day living, learning through play, support my emotional well-being, personal care, and accessing the community.
About You
The ideal candidate will live locally to me, be flexible, patient, have a calm presence, and a genuine caring nature. You will need to be enthusiastic and inspiring to bring a sense of energy into my life. You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity, promoting my independence and respecting my family and my home.
Candidates must be female due to the nature of the role and ideally will have health and social care experience.
During term time, I will require somebody to support me on a Monday, Friday, and Saturday. During non-term time, I will require support for 8 hours per day Monday to Friday.
As this is a bank position, you must be flexible to cover shifts. A rota will be planned and agreed in advance. Anyone looking to apply needs to consider that my hours of support may change depending on my future with college, so my team will need to offer some flexibility with their hours to support changes.
The hourly rate of pay is £13.07 per hour, and all training is paid for, including the hours to complete the necessary training. An in-depth training package will be delivered to my team to support you in understanding how to care for me and to meet my needs.
Benefits
In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:
1. 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
2. Company pension scheme after 3 months service, subject to the scheme rules.
3. Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
4. Free training and development for all roles.
5. Access to wellbeing and support tools.
6. Star of the Month rewards and Long Service Awards.
