Job summary An opportunity has arisen on Stock Ward for a new Junior Sister. As part of your commitments you will be collaborating with the ward manager and other junior sisters in the process of running the ward, appraisals, staff training and interviewing new starters. The ward prides itself upon a high standard of care to all patients and has highly experienced staff in relation to reconstructive plastic surgery. We are a 24 bedded green ward which also accommodates all patients from around the hospital. As part of our team you will be able to develop new and existing skills as a nurse while dealing with diverse patients. If you have a passion for looking after patients who have had breast reconstruction and head and neck surgery after cancer, then this ward is for you. Main duties of the job To support the Ward Manager to run the ward on a day to day basis. To take charge of the ward, delegate the workload, support and teach the team as required. Engage with new innovations, technology and improvements. To adapt and to be able to communicate clearly To engage with all communications sent within the trust and to share knowledge within the team. To use support available for staff such as Occupational Health, counselling and many well-being groups.
