Job Title: Support Worker
Reports to: Registered Manager and Deputy Manager
Job Overview: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required.
• To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislation while ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to and follow the directives from the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.
• Support Service Users in a bespoke/person-centred way to help them build upon their life skills, ensuring they are given choice, and their personal preferences are listened to.
• Undertake all training that is requested to ensure you have the relevant skills needed to undertake your role, and work with the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager around completing a personal development plan.
Location: Working in the Service Users' own homes across 2 sites in a supported living environment.
Working Hours: 08:00 – 14:00 (Early), 14:00 – 20:00 (Late), 20:00 – 08:00 (Wake Night)
Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
Role-specific Duties:
The Support Worker’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Support the Service Users with all aspects of their daily life to ensure all physical and emotional needs are met.
* Promote choice and independence while supporting the Service Users to work on life skills.
* Ensure that the Service Users are at the centre of all support given and listen to their choices.
* Ensure that each Service User is supported to take part in activities that are meaningful to them both in their home and in the community.
* Report any Safeguarding concerns to the Registered Manager immediately.
* Complete all training asked to ensure you have the relevant skills to undertake your role.
* Support the Service Users with medication administration as outlined in the Support Plan/Medication folder.
* Ensure that all support provided is as detailed in their Support Plan.
* Attend Team Meetings as per CQC (Care Quality Commission) requirements.
* Ensure that any changes to the Service Users' needs are reported to the Registered Manager.
* Adhere to the code of conduct as outlined by the Social Care Council.
* Follow Registered Managers/Deputy Managers instructions unless this goes against a company policy or legislation.
* Ensure that accurate factual records are recorded around the Service Users and the support that has been provided.
* Support Service Users to manage their finances as per the Service Users' Support Plan and Finance Passport.
* Ensure that any item £50 or above is placed on the Service Users' inventory and update this record if these items are damaged and need to be thrown away.
Working with Others:
* Develop effective working relationships with colleagues and other health professionals to maximise opportunities for the Service Users.
* Support the Service Users to maintain contact with their families and friends and ensure any changes to their needs are communicated.
Other Duties:
* Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
* Be a role model for other Support Workers and the Service Users and be an ambassador for the service/Salis Care.
* Be professional, respectful, and polite at all times.
Personal and Professional Development:
* Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager.
* Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
* Understand and follow all policies and procedures and ensure that these have been signed.
* Be open to learning opportunities and work towards creating a personal development plan with the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager.

Pay: £11.50 per hour
