My client in the Buxton area is looking for 5 time-served Welder/Fabricators.
Duties of the Role:
1. Weld and fabricate a variety of bespoke components using stainless steel, nickel alloys, and mild steel materials, with a gauge of sheet metal generally between 0.9mm and 6mm thickness.
2. Weld and fabricate frameworks from mild steel rolled, stainless steel, hollow section, and angle iron to a high standard.
3. Read engineering drawings and translate them into an end product with minimum supervision.
4. Achieve a high standard of finish/tolerance on bespoke fabricated products.
5. Complete problem logs regarding issues with drawings and materials.
6. Carry out site work when necessary.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Apprentice trained (City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent in fabrication and welding) and/or time-served fabricator/welder.
2. Previous experience in the welding and fabrication of bespoke products, including sheet metal, working within a light/medium fabrication environment.
3. Good MIG, TIG, and spot-welding skills are essential; the interview will include a weld test.
4. Good calculation skills and the ability to work to fine tolerances.
5. Capable of working on their own initiative and as part of a team.
6. Highly motivated with a team-oriented work style.
7. Accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Willingness to travel if required.
