Lecturer in Supportive Learning
Location: Cambridge

A highly reputable Sixth Form college in Cambridge is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lecturer in Supportive Learning to join its dynamic and student-focused team. This is an exciting opportunity to support students in achieving their full potential by providing tailored learning interventions and specialist teaching strategies.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and assistance required to succeed in their studies. Working closely with subject teachers and support staff, the role involves developing individual learning plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated learning support sessions.
* Provide tailored interventions for students with additional learning needs, including specific learning difficulties, neurodivergence, and other barriers to learning.
* Work collaboratively with subject teachers and pastoral teams to ensure students receive the necessary support.
* Monitor student progress, providing feedback and adapting support strategies accordingly.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of inclusive teaching practices.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as appropriate.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
* A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
* Experience in providing specialist learning support in an educational setting.
* A strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and interventions for students with additional learning needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
* A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced learning environment.
