Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people? Do you have experience working with individuals who find it challenging to build social and emotional relationships?
In recent years, there has been an increasing focus on addressing the mental health needs of pupils who have been affected by adverse childhood experiences. Monarch Education is currently seeking Outreach Behaviour Mentors to provide 1:1 support for these pupils in North Bristol for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential for permanent placement at the school.
This is a full-time, term-time-only position, with hours between 8:15 AM and 4:45 PM. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students while gaining valuable experience in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support for pupils, both within the classroom and in outdoor activities, helping to foster positive behavioural development and emotional well-being.
* Work alongside class teachers to provide tailored pastoral and behavioural support for students with diverse needs.
* Adapt your approach to suit the individual needs of each pupil, creating a stimulating and supportive environment that encourages engagement and motivation.
* Support students in overcoming barriers to learning, helping them to build essential social and emotional skills.
* Participate in school activities, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere of the school.
* Support students in a beautiful garden school setting, with a focus on creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for all learners.
Key Qualities & Experience
* While experience in supporting pupils in a school or alternative setting is advantageous, we are open to considering candidates without prior experience.
* A proactive, flexible, and empathetic approach to working with children and young people.
* A passion for supporting the emotional and social development of students, especially those who face significant challenges.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing guidance and encouragement to students.
* A willingness to engage in additional training and professional development opportunities, including free Safety Intervention training provided by the school.
This position offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils, with full support and guidance provided throughout your role. If you are committed to helping students overcome personal challenges and fulfil their potential, we encourage you to apply today for an immediate start, with the possibility of securing a long-term contract.
