Your Role as a Neurodiversity Tutor
As a Neurodiversity Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting learners with complex needs to achieve their full educational potential. Working within HMP & YOI Bronzefield, you will collaborate closely with the Education Manager, Neurodiversity Support Manager (NSM), and Head of Learning & Skills to create a robust and inclusive learning environment. Your work will directly contribute to reducing reoffending rates by equipping learners with the skills and qualifications needed for a successful return to the community.
You will provide targeted support to individuals with neurodiverse needs, tailoring your approach to ensure they can access education and achieve recognised qualifications. By offering a safe and stimulating learning environment, you will help learners build confidence, independence, and practical skills. You will also champion inclusion within the prison, working with staff across departments and liaising with external professionals to ensure that neurodiverse learners receive the best possible support.
Through ongoing assessments, progress monitoring, and quality assurance, you will strive to maintain high standards of education delivery. You’ll also provide leadership in developing behaviour policies and assist in training other teaching staff to meet the unique needs of neurodiverse learners.

The Ideal Candidate
* Full teaching qualification (Minimum of CTLLS) or PGCE
* A minimum of two years of qualified teaching experience
* A good understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) code of practice.
* To have an interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders.
* The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour.
* Patience, understanding and empathy with learners.
