The role:
As a Principal Electrical Engineer - C&I, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll have the opportunity to lead on EC&I aspects of facility upgrade projects to support the Defuel programme.
Day to day, you’ll support the Electrical Systems Manager in estimating, planning and resourcing to ensure that the design tasks are carried out within time, quality and budget.
* Leading C&I design aspects of design projects following the design lifecycle.
* Developing and managing requirements, producing engineering management plans, authorising specifications, delivering design documentation (such as drawings, design reports, operations, and maintenance manuals etc.)
* Producing commissioning documents and providing technical support to implementation phases of the projects.
* Contribute to the continuous development of the team by acting as a mentor and coach for Junior Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices.
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Principal Electrical Engineer - C&I:
* Significant knowledge of electrical C&I engineering.
* Understanding of both hardware and software-based systems.
* Functional Safety IEC / .
* Machinery Safety IEC IEC.
* Working in the Nuclear Industry or highly regulated environment.
Qualifications for the Principal Electrical Engineer - C&I:
* Degree in an appropriate electrical engineering discipline.
* Professional registration with an engineering body is desirable.
* It would be an advantage to be trained in IOSH Managing Safely.
