2nd Line NOC Engineer
Location - Redruth, Cornwall. Full time on site.
Salary: £35 - 40k with benefits such as bonus, private health, enhanced pension + more.
Working Pattern: 4 on, 4 off working pattern. 8-8 shifts (1 week on days, 1 week on nights).
This role is working directly for a telecoms service provider, which is in a continued stage of growth. They are well funded and constantly winning new contracts with both the private and public sector.
The company has over 250 headcount and offices all over the world. They work across both public and private sectors, supplying connectivity, communication, and IT solutions to a range of organisations within the maritime, defence, and commercial sectors.
You'll be joining a team of 10 in the Redruth office and working in the NOC. You'll be reporting to the head of ops, and at any given time, there will be between 6-10 other engineers on your shift. The team currently consists of 6 x 1st line engineers, 3 x 2nd line engineers, 2 x 3rd line engineers, and a team lead.
In this role, you'll be working at 2nd line, dealing with escalations that the first line cannot resolve, as well as proactive monitoring of various systems. Some systems are bespoke, so it is not expected that you come in and know everything; we are looking for someone with a solid foundational knowledge and a willingness to learn. You'll be liaising with internal colleagues as well as external customers, so a service provider background is key.
Your Background:
Ideally, we're looking for someone from a sat comms/telecoms company. You will have worked in a similar environment in a customer-facing role. Whether you're already at 2nd line or have been at 1st line for a few years and are looking for the next step in your career, this could be the role for you. It is a Juniper-biased environment, but we are open-minded in terms of vendor background.
The office is based in Redruth, so you must live within a commutable distance.
The benefits package includes a yearly bonus, ongoing training and development, enhanced pensions, and 25 days of annual leave plus a flexible working week once probation is completed.
