Leeds Central Salvation Army has a history of providing nutritious meals for some of the most vulnerable in our community. We are looking to appoint a cook to lead our team of volunteers to continue this part of our programme three days a week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The main duties and responsibilities of the successful applicant would be:
Provide healthy and nutritious meals (including catering for special diets).
Plan menus, purchase, prepare, cook, and serve food to recognised standards and within budget.
Car owner/driver desirable.
Ensure all equipment and machinery in the catering facility is maintained to a safe and serviceable level.
To clean the kitchen before, during, and after cooking.
Ensure freezers are rotated correctly.
Ensure that all current health and safety, environmental health, and hygiene standards are maintained in the catering facility.
Supervise catering volunteers.
Ensure clients are treated with respect and courtesy.
Undertake training as necessary.
Work as part of a team.
Undertake other duties as required for the effective running of the centre
