As a Building Maintenance (Fabric) Services engineer, you will be operating within the Councils Hard FM Property Maintenance Group (PMG) which is part of Somerset Councils Regulatory & Operational department. PMG is responsible for delivering high quality building maintenance services both planned and reactive across the corporate property portfolio.
You will join a team of highly qualified and experienced operatives (Electricians, Plumbers, Heating engineers, multi-skilled building tradesmen, HVAC Engineers) supported by an administrative helpdesk team and managerial staff. Delivering quality workmanship to buildings across the corporate property portfolio. In general, the work is mainly carpentry based but should be multi-skilled and capable of completing general building maintenance tasks e.g. plastering, groundworks, and basic plumbing. The work will be varied and interesting and will provide an opportunity for you to showcase your skills.

* Have previous experience within a Hard FM or Facilities Services environment.
* Hold a C&G NVQ (or equivalent) trade-related qualification(s).
* Are able to work to deadlines and set SLA’s.
* Can manage workload and prioritise urgent requests.
* Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Have vast experience and knowledge of general building repairs and construction.
* Have a good understanding of basic IT and use of electronic devices (CAFM systems).
