An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individuals to join our Environmental Services Team. We have 6 full-time apprenticeship roles available as a Facilities Service Operative Level 2. This is your chance to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience and structured training to launch your career in facilities services.
About the Role
As a Facilities Service Operative Level 2 Apprentice, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our estates and communal areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Working as part of a dedicated team, you’ll deliver high-quality services that meet the expectations of both the council and residents.
During your apprenticeship, you’ll receive comprehensive training while working towards the Facilities Service Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standards. This is a full-time role which will include attending college once a week as part of the apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and washing communal areas (staircases, entrances, corridors, etc.).
* Learn to operate cleaning equipment and maintain lift cars, estate signs, balustrades, and other communal fixtures.
* Assist with moving bulk waste to collection points and managing rubbish disposal from refuse storage rooms and litter bins.
* Support cleaning and maintenance tasks in communal areas, including refuse chute rooms, car parks, playgrounds, flower beds, and weed removal.
* Conduct and document monthly health and safety inspections of communal areas, ensuring identified defects are reported or addressed.
* Record and report estate incidents, particularly those affecting health, safety, or wellbeing.
* Build positive relationships with residents to enhance satisfaction and service excellence.
* Follow health and safety guidelines and collaborate with the Environmental Services team to seek continuous improvements.
