An opportunity has arisen for a Global Category Manager (IT categories), focusing upon the development of IT category strategies through to negotiating and contracting with our strategic IT supply chain, to join our team in Group Indirect Purchasing.
Our Group Indirect Purchasing teams are critical to our success within Rolls-Royce. As a member of this team you will be at the forefront of strategy development and execution, which is key to ensuring our continued growth.
Working as part of a dynamic and integrated category management team, you will be relied upon to deliver category strategies, and manage the associated strategic sourcing activities with some of our global suppliers. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels internally as well as externally.
Functionally, our primary responsibility is to select and manage the Rolls-Royce global supply chain that will deliver the most efficient and cost effective service to the Group. What You Will Be Doing
1. Developing and implementing global external supplier and category strategies which will drive sustainable improvements in quality, cost and delivery. Running global and/or strategic tenders to enable these, and helping to define and execute the Purchasing to Pay (P2P) solutions that underpin the strategies.
2. Supplier Performance and Relationship Management - Being Responsible for senior relationship management and business development of suppliers within their category area or business project to which you are assigned.
3. Cost and Value Management - Establishing the commercial framework in which the suppliers shall operate, ensuring cost competitiveness and value improvement is achieved.
4. Processes and Procedures – Along with the regional Sourcing teams being accountable for ensuring adherence to functional processes and procedures and on going development/continuous improvement activities.
5. Code of Ethics - Ensuring own compliance to the company's code of ethics.

Role
They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles and for this role we are looking for someone with:
1. BA degree or equivalent or significant industry experience.
2. Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent.
3. Proven track record of delivering results.
4. Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working.
5. Good planning / project management skills.
6. Strong commercial acumen.
7. Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management.
8. Experience of IT categories preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
The professional level and the salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
