About the Role: As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to the English Department, helping students to achieve their academic goals and develop a love for language and literature. This is an ideal role for recent English graduates considering a career in education or looking to gain hands-on experience in a school environment. Key Responsibilities: Work one-on-one and in small groups with students, providing tailored support to improve their literacy skills, comprehension, and confidence in English. Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum effectively. Support students in preparing for key assessments, including GCSEs, by guiding them through revision techniques, essay writing, and exam strategies. Help to create and adapt learning materials that cater to the varying needs of students, including those with additional learning needs. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers, contributing to the development of targeted intervention plans. Support classroom management, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation. Participate in extracurricular activities, such as English clubs or school productions, to inspire a broader appreciation for literature and creative expression.
