Sub Agent – London

A major contractor who operates across the UK and Europe is currently seeking a Sub Agent for their flagship project based in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major contractor on a historic project in terms of value and prestige. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a rail and station upgrade environment.
Accountability / Key responsibilities
1. Ensure works on site are carried out safely with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public, and the environment.
2. Ensure all works are constructed efficiently, to the required quality, and in accordance with the required contract programme.
3. Ensure that all certificates, assurance, and compliance certificates are generated and collated.
4. Ensure that CDM regulations are complied with and in particular the CDM Health and Safety file is compiled.
5. Assist with the preparation and review of Method Statements and ITPs.
6. Coordinate materials approval process.
7. Assist with weekly reports on site progress.
8. Report to the Site Agent in supervising the site team during construction to completion and handover.
9. Assist with the construction strategy; this includes induction meetings, pre-commencement documentation such as Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, Construction programmes, procurement and design deliverable schedules.
10. Assist with temporary works design schemes.
11. Liaise with the Site Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, materials, and temporary works to carry out the activities to the required standards, programme, and budget.
12. Manage the site engineering team and be responsible for the performance and development of site and Section Engineers.
13. Responsible for identifying and resolving problems arising from technical site issues in liaison with the Site Agent.
14. Assist with the co-ordination of construction operations, ensuring they conform to the contract requirements and the required level of safety, health, environment, and quality.
15. Liaise with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Contract, current regulations, and legislation.
16. Co-ordinate, monitor, and manage subcontractors (Civils Works, Tunnelling & MEP) in the performance of their works to ensure they are completed to the Contractual requirements and Company standards.
17. Ensure that the site team has the documentation, information, and resources required to carry out their duties.
18. Assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting, site measurement, material reconciliation, and cost control.
19. Assist with the career development of subordinate staff.
20. Comply with requirements outlined in BSCU’s Environmental Management Plan.
Experience, knowledge, qualifications & training
1. Have good communication skills in English (both written and verbal) and be able to report at Management level.
2. Have substantial experience in similar works and carrying out similar tasks. Must show experience in medium/large size projects in preparation, documentation, procurement, planning, setup, execution of the works, supervision, and coordination of the activities, preferably tunnel and London Underground projects, working directly on site.
3. Good Computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer.
4. Hold a Supervisory CSCS Card (Black).
5. Hold an in-date SMSTS Certificate.
6. Hold a Confined Spaces Training Certificate.
7. Hold First Aid Training Certificate.
8. Hold an LU Sentinel Card.
9. Hold both LU & DLR Basic Track Awareness.
10. Hold a Tunnel Safety Card.
