This is a key leadership role within the Institute of Care Excellence for practice learning, professional development, education and workforce transformation. The post holder will work closely with Assistant Directors of Nursing and Institute Clinical Lead (Education) to lead on Practice Education for undergraduate and postgraduate education development, implementation and evaluation of education programmes, continuing professional development strategies and policies for N&M. They will deputise for the Institute Clinical Lead for professional development and education in leading, developing and implementing strategic approaches to practice learning, placement capacity, preceptorship programme development, delivery and governance processes. The post holder requires experience in managing nursing apprenticeship programmes and practice placements. They will promote sharing of best practice and an organisational culture of learning and excellence.
The post holder will support the ADN and Institute Clinical Lead to ensure alignment of Corporate and Divisional education and training activity for the non-medical clinical workforce. With support from the senior team the post holder will utilise evidence based practice and research to inform practice learning and professional development programmes, focus investment and evaluation of education, practice development and learning. The post holder will work with the ADN and Clinical Lead to ensure compliance with educational quality assurance processes and professional clinical standards as required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, NHSE and other national policy, regulatory bodies and providers of education as required. They will be accountable for the efficient and effective use and management of education resources and education programmes. As a senior lead within the Institute, they will support the development of the Institute and the implementation of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan.
