This position is located at Rockingham Youth Development Center.
This is a 12 month position paid on the state teachers’ salary scale plus a 6% supplement.
This position provides students with direct instruction in science utilizing the Common Core State Standards and NC Essential Skills.
Job Duties:
* Preparing lesson plans, instructional materials, and maintaining student progress reports.
* Utilizing data to inform all instructional activities based on NC Standards.
* Implementing IEP modifications and keeping all student records.
This position requires the ability to:
* Experience observing and communicating observations and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
* This position serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team to plan for student services and treatment.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:
* Experience providing instruction with solid classroom management techniques.
* Experience establishing rapport with and/or relating to the students served and their families, treatment professionals, and/or campus staff.
Management Preference: These skills are not required but managers may choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.
* Experience interpreting the laws that govern programs for students with exceptionalities and applying best practices.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Highly Qualified valid “A” or “M” NC teaching license in either middle or high school Science subjects OR eligible to hold a NCDPI issued license in Middle School or High School Science.
