To support the efficient running of the Nursery, keeping all areas of the Nursery, including the kitchen and all toilets, clean, tidy and organised. This includes washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning and sweeping as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
* To ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the nursery in accordance with Environmental Health procedures.
* Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety applicable to children, colleagues, parents and visitors, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
* Wear protective clothing in accordance with COSHH and Health and Hygiene regulations and Infection Control guidelines.
* Provide feedback to the manager where maintenance is noticed and required to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
* Ensure the Manager is aware of the need for replacement or repair of materials and equipment for satisfactory performance of duties.
* Specific Duties:
* Cleaning of all toilets.
* Cleaning of nappy area.
* Cleaning of all floors.
* Cleaning of kitchen appliances and cupboards.
* Clearing away of messy play activities/paint resources.
* Loading and unloading of the dishwasher.
* Preparing fruit snacks for the afternoon.
* Putting on and hanging out washing.
* General tidy and sort to maintain effective running of the nursery.
* Sweeping/general tidying of the garden and resources.
* Emptying of the bins to the bin stores and ensuring items are put into the correct bins.
* Re-stocking of paper towels, toilet rolls, soap, wipes, gloves, cleaning products.
* Milton potties and nappy bins weekly.
* Dusting weekly.
* Hoovering daily.
* Steam cleaning of toys on a rota basis each week.
* Check off and put away Sainsbury’s delivery.
* Cleaning of furniture and equipment.
* Prepare items for nursery display boards.
* Covering of staff lunch breaks.
