Looking to kickstart a fulfilling career in aircraft maintenance? Our 5-year Aircraft Engineering Technician Apprenticeship programme will give you the experience and skills you need to work on emergency services aircraft.
About the programme
Join an exciting aviation engineering environment dedicated to supporting helicopter emergency services. On this programme, you'll train to become a fully licensed engineer, responsible for the airworthiness of critical air ambulances that help the public when they’re most in need.
Your first year of training with us will include a 9-month residential course based at Kemble Airfield in Gloucestershire. Here you’ll learn both the theoretical and practical skills you need to work towards your Part 66 Category A licence.
Over the five-year programme, you’ll learn how to do maintenance inspections, component changes and repairs on a variety of aircraft. You’ll also learn about the many administration tasks associated with aircraft maintenance in addition to working on your communication skills, confidence and ability to collaborate with a team.
At the end of the programme, you’ll be ready to take the next leap in your career journey by applying for your CAA Pt.66 B1.3 licence – allowing you to delve into the world of rotary wing aircraft maintenance by becoming a fully licensed engineer.
