We are seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Developmental Services Workers (DSWs) to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide critical support to clients with developmental disabilities in community living settings, emphasizing personalized care, companionship, and home support. Our company, proudly serving Guelph and Cambridge since 2022, specializes in individualized support, including for clients with dementia and Parkinson’s, and values thorough documentation in every aspect of care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Medication Administration: Administer medications following precise protocols and document each dose meticulously. Report any discrepancies or client reactions immediately.
* Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support clients with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily routines, while tracking and documenting their progress or challenges with activities. Support to be provided as per Care Plan.
* Skill Building and Companionship: Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, emotional well-being, and skill development. Document participation and note any specific preferences, goals, or progress.
* Home Support: Perform essential household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry. Record each support activity and communicate any adjustments needed to ensure a safe, comfortable environment.
* Behavioral and Health Monitoring: Observe and document clients’ physical and emotional well-being. Track behavioral patterns, health indicators, and report notable changes to supervisory staff promptly.
* Thorough Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records for each client, including medication logs, ADL support, and behavioral observations, in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years in developmental services or a similar role, preferably with experience in community living.
* Certification: DSW certification or equivalent.
* Skills: Strong documentation skills, empathetic communication, and the ability to foster a supportive environment for clients.
