Description:
You will deliver engaging and effective training sessions to groups both face to face and via distance learning. You will also compile and assess all learner work including using an online platform and contribute towards ensuring excellent attendance and retention of learners. This role also has a responsibility to safeguard the welfare of students, prevent radicalisation and promote British Values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To deliver engaging, effective and innovative group training sessions both in centre and online.
2. To ensure that all students' work skills are developed and that they are ready for working life by the time they complete their course.
3. To work closely with the Head of School for Employability & Professional Development and others to enhance the learning experience and improve progression.
4. To deliver training that meets the criteria and standards for all awarding bodies.
5. To conduct and use Initial Assessments/Skills Scans effectively and set students appropriate, but challenging targets and goals.
6. To assess and map units for any portfolio and present for Internal Verification in readiness for External Verification.
7. Ensure that students' attendance and retention targets are met, with absences robustly followed up.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
Essential criteria:
1. Qualified Teacher
2. Level 2 English and maths
3. The ability to deliver effective sessions to groups, both face to face and online
4. Excellent communication skills
5. To persuade and influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behaviour
6. To build rapport with target group and retain their attention during training sessions
7. To work well under pressure
8. To work to targets and deadlines
9. Highly motivated and innovative and solution focused
10. Positive and engaging personality
11. Competent use of IT
Desirable criteria:
1. Experience of delivering Employability and vocational qualifications
2. Industry experience in Health & Social Care, Business, Technology etc.
3. Assessing & Iving qualification, or willingness to work towards
