Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Freelance Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of a £10 million industrial unit development in Kent. This pivotal role will involve managing site operations, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that the project meets quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring smooth project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a forward-thinking company committed to quality and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-End Project Management: Plan, execute, monitor, and close the project, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
* Team Coordination: Oversee and support the site team, contractors, and consultants, ensuring efficient communication and performance.
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact, liaising with clients, regulatory authorities, and suppliers.
* Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure that all work meets UK construction regulations, company standards, and contractual obligations.
* Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to keep the project on track and prevent cost overruns.
* Health & Safety Leadership: Uphold the highest safety standards, ensuring all activities adhere to site safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in construction, ideally in industrial/commercial builds of similar scale.
* Project Management Qualification: APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and a solid understanding of UK building regulations.
* Leadership and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and work with multiple stakeholders.
* Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to adapt and resolve issues proactively in a fast-paced environment.
