Seasonal Fleet & Facilities Groundskeeping Technician
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Fleet and Facilities Groundskeeping Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks that support operational efficiency, safety, and the upkeep of district facilities and fleet vehicles. The technician will collaborate closely with various departments across the organization.
As a Fleet and Facilities Groundskeeping Technician, each day brings a variety of hands-on tasks. This position is well-suited for individuals with experience in landscaping or groundskeeping who are looking to expand their expertise.

Day-to-Day:
Fleet
* Assist with fleet and facilities shop repairs, including minor mechanical work and routine servicing of district vehicles and equipment as needed.
* Perform tree maintenance, light-duty landscaping, and vegetation management to support operational and safety requirements.
* Operate landscaping and fleet maintenance equipment, such as boom lifts, chainsaws, and other specialized tools, following safety protocols.
* Assist with vehicle fueling, transportation, and disposal runs as needed.
* Coordinate with Fleet and Water department personnel to prioritize and complete job assignments efficiently.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time tracking, materials used, and service logs.
* Perform on-site field repairs for stationary or disabled equipment to minimize operational disruptions.
* Assist with irrigation system maintenance, including seasonal startups, winterization, and blowouts.
* Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and the fleet maintenance shop to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
Facilities
* Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they remain in proper working condition and are readily available for use.
* Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and district staff to complete tasks efficiently while fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
* Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including turf and grass care, garden upkeep, noxious weed control, and irrigation system maintenance.
* Conduct inspections and maintenance of sprinkler systems, replacing and adjusting sprinkler heads.
* Assist with fire mitigation efforts around water storage tanks and district facilities by clearing vegetation and implementing weed control measures.
* Support landscaping projects and facility upkeep to ensure a clean, safe, and professional appearance of district properties.
Qualifications & Competencies
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Must be 18 years or older.
* Must be comfortable performing repetitive preventative maintenance tasks related to groundskeeping and landscaping.
* Ability to work with hand tools and basic mechanical ability required.
* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn required.
* Proven customer service skills and the ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision.
* Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) are essential as this position works closely with customers, contractors, developers, and other District Departments.
* Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's license and be insurable under District's standard.
Schedule
The regular schedule for this position will be 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday but may work weekends or holidays as required. This position will work up to a maximum of 1,000 hours or six months and will be based out of the Avon Wastewater Treatment Facility. An ideal start date for this position is in April or May.
Pay Range and Benefits
