Your new role
As Supplier Technical Engineer you will be required to establish a strong working relationship with key supply base companies such as raw material suppliers, component suppliers, tier 2 production machinists and external quality sorting companies to ensure delivery of product to the required quality standards. You will actively manage and support supply base cross functional team actions during supplier selection, NPI and design Change Management to ensure the timely achievement of APQP, PPAP and Run at Rate deliverables and milestones in-line with the Start of Production date. Coach and train supplier key personnel on 8D problem-solving and kaizen quality improvements tools and techniques such as Ishikawa, 5-Why, SPC, Charts & Graphs, Pareto, PFMEA, Control Plans etc. when required. Conduct audits on supplier QMS processes, production processes and Control Plans to ensure achievement of APQP & PPAP deliverables, to investigate non-conforming product quality (NCR) and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) issues and to identify kaizen quality improvement opportunities.
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally you will be degree educated, but not essential. You will have a minimum 3 years quality engineer within an engineering or manufacturing environment, quality management systems & ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, Data Analysis, KPIs, NCRs and Quality reporting. You will have structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, A3, 4C and tools such as Ishikawa, 5-Why, Pareto, Charts & Graphs, control plan audits and Kaizen projects, inspection procedures, record sheets, measurement hand tools & equipment and project management, PDCA, Gantt Charts.
