Timing of 11sqn activities is constrained by tidal conditions which means that there will be requirements to work outside normal hours for which a premium will be paid in line with MOD policy Continuous Amphibious Readiness is one of the Royal Navys key outputs. 47 Commando Raiding Group Royal Marines (47Cdo (RG) RM) delivers support to the Commando Forces amphibious capability. Within 47Cdo, 11 Squadron, based at RM Instow, enables this with the trials and development of amphibious equipment that is at the forefront of Future Commando Force, and delivering specialist amphibious training on a variety of vehicles and boats to project and sustain forces from the sea. Depending upon experience and qualifications, the successful applicant may be required to travel and stay overnight in order to complete training vital to fulfil the role. Person specification The successful candidate will work as part of Military Transport (MT), a small team delivering Driver support on a variety of military equipment and vehicles ranging from light utilities to heavy tracked vehicles. The role will also include operating as part of a crew of a specialist recovery vehicle supporting amphibious beach exercises. Much of 11 Squadron's work is experimental in nature, therefore there will be opportunities to participate in innovative trials and development activity. Potential applicants will be requested to present evidence of Driving Licence entitlements prior to attending any interview. This role is subject to applicants having an HGV medical examination.
