Part time Activity Co-ordinator - Dewar Close Responsibilities and duties To create a programme of activities for the home containing a minimum 3 activity sessions per day, 7 days a week, including ‘drop-in’ in-house activities such as Skype sessions, 'What the papers say', group activities such as games and parties, community trips and externally led sessions To liaise with Head Office to ensure the visual activity programme is produced in good time and displayed in appropriate places within the home To ensure activity sessions are led by a named person and take place as planned To lead some activity sessions directly To gather feedback on sessions through a range of media such as photographs, film clips, questionnaires and to collate and report on this To ensure that participation in group and one to one activities is recorded in people’s life diaries To ensure that a standalone 1-page activity portrait is created on admission setting out each resident’s interests/likes/dislikes and to regularly review and update this To create an activity plan for each resident within one month of admission showing how their interests/likes/dislikes will be met To organise (but not necessarily deliver directly) a one-to-one session to each resident at least once per month and to ensure this is accurately recorded To create the resources necessary for people to continue to engage in their interests e.g. creating a playlist of favourite music in consultation with family and friends Plan safe and inspiring exercise sessions and activity schedules, which meet the needs of residents Organise appropriate activity aids and props Select and use popular and familiar music Qualifications and skills Experience in a care-related field is an advantage.
