Excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Services Manager to join the Estates & Facilities team of a leading university. You will oversee a team of multi-skill maintenance staff to deliver planned preventative & reactive maintenance across their vast continuously expanding estate.
Description
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, Engineering and Sustainability, the Maintenance Services Manager will provide leadership and be directly responsible for overseeing and managing approximately 55 staff responsible for the service delivery of all urgent, reactive, and compliance maintenance necessary for the upkeep of the Estate. To take responsibility for expenditure of approximately £5m on the maintenance budgets.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and management to a team of circa 60 multi-disciplinary maintenance staff and compliance-based tasks.
2. Manage the recruitment, selection, and induction of new staff.
3. Set high standards of performance and behavior and ensure the engagement of staff in the delivery of excellent service to all stakeholders.
4. Work closely with the Director and the Department's Senior Leadership Team to develop an understanding of their key priorities, translating these into effective operational implementation plans.
5. Take responsibility for day-to-day expenditure of the £5m maintenance budgets.
6. Work in cooperation with the Head of Operations on the implementation and embedding of the CAFM system.
7. Coordinate and engage with work processes relating to Reactive Maintenance, Planned and Preventative Maintenance, and ongoing Compliance works.
8. Work in conjunction with the Engineering Team to coordinate and allocate tasks relating to minor works requests.
9. Act as a champion for Health and Safety policy, ensuring that this culture of commitment is reflected and embedded within the Team; taking responsibility for H&S audits throughout the Maintenance area.
Profile
Ideally a degree in an Engineering/ Building Services / Facilities related subject. Excellent knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Building Services (M&E). Significant experience delivering frontline Maintenance Services across a large Estate. Experience managing a team of multi-skilled maintenance staff. Excellent communication skills and able to liaise with a variety of key stakeholders. Significant knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation. NEBOSH certificate. Competent using IT systems / CAFM systems.
