Reporting to: Head of Commercial
Job summary: To generate new business opportunities, qualify leads, and set up meetings and appointments for the business development team.
Key Responsibilities And Requirements
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
* Research and identify potential leads through various channels (email, phone, social media, etc.).
* Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects.
* Utilize CRM tools to track interactions and follow up with leads in a timely manner.
* Initiate cold calls, emails, and social outreach to potential clients.
* Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services.
* Qualify leads based on criteria such as budget, timeline, and needs.
* Schedule qualified meetings and appointments for the business development team.
Lead Qualification and Nurturing
* Conduct initial discovery calls to understand prospect needs and pain points.
* Assess whether the prospect is a good fit for the company’s offerings and sales strategy.
* Nurture relationships with leads and move them through the sales funnel, ensuring they are well-prepared for meetings with the business development team.
Supporting the Business Development Team
* Work in close collaboration with the business development team to ensure seamless communication and support in qualifying and converting leads.
* Provide detailed prospect information and context to the business development team prior to meetings.
* Set up qualified appointments and demos for the business development team to further explore sales opportunities.
Collaboration with Sales Team
* Work closely with Account Executives and Business Development Managers to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and set appointments.
* Assist in scheduling demos and meetings between prospects and the sales team.
* Provide sales team with detailed information about lead interactions to inform strategy and next steps.
CRM and Sales Tracking
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM (Hubspot).
* Monitor and report on key metrics, including lead volume, conversion rates, and outreach effectiveness.
* Continuously analyze sales data to improve prospecting and outreach strategies.
Training and Development
* Facilitate on-the-job training to ensure your Buyers have excellent knowledge of the system and processes including new functionality.
* Organize refresher training for your Buyer from time to time.
* Identify training needs and adapt training approach to suit those needs.
* Ensure training covers benefits, not just features.
* Make recommendations for training including coaching, mentoring etc.
Market Research
* Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential new markets.
* Share valuable insights with the sales team and contribute to the development of targeted messaging and campaigns.
Meet Performance Goals
* Consistently achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets for lead generation and outreach activity.
* Set and confirm a set number of meetings/appointments with qualified leads each week/month.
* Contribute to team revenue goals by securing high-quality meetings and demos for the sales team.
Key Objectives:
* Generate a set number of qualified leads and appointments per week/month.
* Increase conversion rate of leads to qualified meetings and sales opportunities.
* Support business development team by ensuring seamless meeting handoffs and providing in-depth prospect information.
* Continuously improve sales outreach strategies based on performance data and feedback.
Knowledge and Experience
* Proven experience in outbound sales, lead generation, or a related field (1-2 years preferred).
* Strong experience in setting up and coordinating meetings with prospects.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
* Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude.
* Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.
* Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven by achieving targets.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
