A bit about me:
I am a friendly 13-year-old female who loves to be active. I live with my mum, dad and my twin brother. My favourite outdoor activities include going to the park, countryside walks and playing mini golf. I also love visiting the local trampoline park and soft play centre. Most of the time I can manage to walk but when I get tired, I do use a wheelchair. When the weather is not so good inside activities that I enjoy include listening to music and dancing. Although I am non-verbal, I can use my iPad to communicate my needs.
About the role:
I am looking for someone who could take me out to different places during the school holidays or just be with me to keep me company. I love it when my mum points things out to me and chats to me about what we can see however when we are out and about I also need someone to keep me safe and help me as I can get anxious when places are busy. I do need some help with eating and toileting. Above all though, I am looking for someone who I can have fun with and who I can learn from.
The kind of person I am looking for:
A friendly, approachable person with good communication and social skills. Ideally someone who has had previous experience working with young people with special educational needs. It is requested that the applicant is female due to the role involving some personal care. For this reason, it is exempt under the general occupational requirement section of the Equality Act 2010.
