Job Description
Crossroads are recruiting for Young Carers Support Workers to provide invaluable outings to the young carers in our community.
Crossroads Young Carers Project supports children and young people who are the main carer for a relative.
We primarily provide social support as our young carers meet others in similar situations, through outings. We also run workshops to equip them with different skills.
This role will usually be around 6 - 9 hours per month across 1 or 2 evenings.
Location:
Various depending on social activity, however, will be centred in your local area – with reasonable travelling involved.
Hours of Work:
* Part time position
* Approx. 6 – 9 hours per month
About The Role
JOB DESCRIPTON
1.To collect young carers from their home and take them to arranged social outings.
2.To return young carers home after the social outing has finished.
3.To participate, if required in the development of programmes and to follow through agreed activity.
4.To take responsibility for ensuring that activities are safe and enjoyable for the young carers.
5.To work as part of a team and to support the other young carers support attendants.
6.To work within the guidelines on child protection and adhere to this as the highest priority at all times.
7.Record-keeping and administration as required.
8.To attend meetings, courses and working groups as required.
9.To undertake any other relevant duties which may be required.

Desired Criteria
* Any experience of interpersonal skills or youth work would be an advantage
Required Criteria
* Right to work and live in the UK
* Full driving licence, valid insurance (business use), use of a car
* Residing in the area advertised
