Reporting into the Group IT Director, you’ll be part of a highly motivated IT Leadership team who sit at the heart of our brilliant business. The Role As we adapt in the digital age, we're looking for an innovative leader who can harness the power of data to enhance data insights and drive business growth. As the Head of Data & Analytics, you will be at the forefront of establishing and implementing our data-driven strategy and governance framework. Your mission will be to transform data into a strategic asset, guiding key business decisions and unlocking new opportunities. You will build and lead a talented team of data professionals, championing a culture of analytical excellence across the organisation. The role will offer hybrid working based from Harrogate (HG2 7DL), with the ideal candidate being flexible to be based from site more frequently as the role and function is established. Please note that this position is not suitable for fully remote applicants, as regular on-site collaboration in Harrogate is essential. Key Responsibilities Data & Analytics Strategy: Establish, implement, and continuously improve a groupwide Data & Analytics Strategy and governance framework in collaboration with business leaders, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and business objectives. Data Architecture & Centre of Excellence: Define and maintain a scalable data architecture with Functional and Technical Architecture teams, while leading a Centre of Excellence to enhance the organisation's capacity for advanced analytics and business insights. Data Governance: Embed best practices for data governance and quality management, fostering a culture of responsible data ownership and establishing clear accountability through a groupwide Data Board. Innovation & Roadmaps: Oversee Data and Analytics solutions, aligning future roadmaps with business needs, and driving innovation through the adoption of new technologies. Risk Assessment & Solution Development: Assess risks and complexities, providing expertise to convert business challenges into solutions aligned with the Enterprise Architecture Roadmap. Stakeholder Collaboration: Drive a culture of efficiency by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for optimisation through Data & Analytics. Initiatives & Change Management: Lead and deliver new data initiatives, inspiring the business to explore innovative solutions while ensuring adherence to best practices. Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Partner with relevant teams to promote data literacy and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and ISO27001. IT Leadership Team Participation: Actively participate in the IT Leadership Team, researching opportunities and shaping the Group’s IT strategy through effective networking and horizon scanning. What You Bring Proven and demonstratable experience in data analytics and management, preferably in a large organisation where this function has not previously existed. Proven professional experience in data governance and analytics. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. Strategic thinker and leader with a deep understanding of technical, legal and regulatory aspects of data governance and usage by businesses. Proficiency in data and data visualisation tools and technologies, statistical analysis, and database management (SQL, Oracle, AWL, Azure, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI etc.). Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders. A passion for continuous improvement and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
