About the role (External)
We're seeking a Resources Manager to join our North West and Central Long Term Planning Team to manage the work bank development process. You'll deliver a plan agreed with customers and allocate resources efficiently to meet the requirements of work deliverers.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Develop a deliverable and efficient work bank with customers and work delivery partners, allocating work and resources to the Service Delivery Manager to deliver.
2. Manage the collation of future work bank information to facilitate resource allocation from Route Logistics Manager.
3. Support the Route Logistics Manager with managing the off-charging process to agree charges with customers.
4. Identify efficient and productive modes of operation.
5. Support the Route Logistics Manager with the post-delivery commercial review and sign-off with customers and work delivery partners.
6. Responsible for efficient use of regional resources.
7. Identify and agree resource transfer with other regions as appropriate.
8. Manage the engagement and development of individuals and the team while identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Essential:
Knowledge of wagon type-job compatibility.
Knowledge of relevant railway geography and network capability.
Able to work under pressure within a continuous planning process.
Able to evaluate complex factors and make decisions to maximize benefit to Network Rail.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
