REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
Our client is a successful UK-based space and defence services company with strong ambitions to grow both domestically and in export markets. They are seeking a new financial leader to join the business—someone who can deliver a robust and strategic approach to financial management that supports their growth trajectory.
The new CFO and Company Secretary will ensure their finances remain strong and aligned with their objectives, with a focus on daily financial operations and the financial modelling and analysis that drive sustainable growth. This experienced strategist will bring deep knowledge of current accounting practices, risk finance, and complex project delivery within sectors like defence and space. As part of their senior management team, the CFO must demonstrate clear, effective leadership and communication.
The CFO will also oversee the Legal and Contracts (L&C) division, ensuring strong leadership and clear objectives across its functions.

Driving sustainable growth in the UK and international space services markets by delivering robust financial leadership, operational excellence, and strategic innovation—while maintaining strong governance, legal compliance, and risk management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with senior leaders to shape budget proposals, ensure compliance with project financing, and facilitate accurate reporting.
* Identify revenue opportunities and efficiency improvements by analysing operations and the market trends.
* Oversee financial elements of sales initiatives, ensuring appropriate risk management.
* Perform risk analysis on liabilities and investments, and manage capital structure and funding strategy.
* Monitor performance metrics, implement corrective actions, and deliver financial reports to leadership.
* Lead the finance team and oversee financial systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and financial standards
REQUIREMENTS
* 5+ years in leadership roles
* Experience in the Defence or Space Industry
* Strong leadership, integrity, and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication (verbal, written, and visual)
* Knowledge of advanced accounting, regulatory frameworks, and tax strategy
* Familiarity with alternative capital-raising methods
