About this Role:
Superb opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join this busy regional main contractor to manage the construction of a £17m new build extra-care retirement/residential scheme in Petersfield, Hampshire.
The project comprises the construction of a new build extra care home for a key client. The works include the demolition of the existing building, groundworks and piled foundation, and a brick and block traditional build 3-storey development, within a logistically challenging location. The overall programme of works from taking possession of the site will be close to 24 months.
As Project Manager for the scheme, you will be responsible for managing the project through the late preconstruction phase on to site setup and throughout the construction phases on site with your project team.
You will lead your team, holding responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology, and programming of works, input to procurement with the commercial team, and the smooth and timely progress of construction on site. Taking lead control of the project throughout, with health & safety, quality control, positive client interface, and delivery on time and budget all being of key importance.
Works will take place close to an existing occupied building, so it will require regular engagement with the management of this building, ideally building a positive stakeholder relationship.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is the busy regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of £70m, and secured workload in the education sector at primary, secondary and higher levels, commercial, local authority, leisure, and retirement sectors in the Hampshire and Berkshire area.
This is a profitable and cash-rich main contractor, with positive client and supply chain relationships.
Projects range in size from £8m to £25m. Work is secured through several regional frameworks, negotiated work with repeat clients, and competitive tenders.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to £15m-20m in value.
Some prior experience of delivering the construction of a retirement/extra care residential scheme with a main contractor previously would be advantageous.
Key attributes will include excellent client-facing skills, design team and site team leadership ability, technical, contractual, and commercial knowledge, focus, and drive.
High standards, attention to detail, and commitment will be very well rewarded with excellent salary, benefits, promotional, and development prospects.
Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK.
