A fantastic opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician, based in Cardiff, to ensure production standards are met and maintained for products before they leave site.
Hours: 07.30 - 16.00 (Mon - Thu) & 07.30 - 14.00 (Fri)
Salary: £28 - £29k per annum
Duties include:
1. Maintain Quality Management Systems including document control, review and create documents, work instructions, dashboards, and other quality administrative tasks.
2. Complying with all standards, internal policies and legal regulations.
3. Carrying out in-process quality inspections and audits.
4. Identifying and reporting non-conformities.
5. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
6. Maintain waste management system liaising with external providers.
7. Measuring equipment - control and calibration.
8. Assist in non-conformance system maintenance.
9. Assist in customer complaints system maintenance.
10. Assist in Quality Management Systems maintenance:
11. Document control.
12. Maintain quality dashboards up to date.
13. Maintain quality documentation up to date.
14. Create/update standard operating procedures where required.
15. Provide quality procedures training where required.
16. Keep training records up to date and maintain training matrix for all departments.
17. Participate in improvement projects.
18. Support the Quality Manager in internal and external audit preparation.
19. Deal/provide support with day-to-day quality issues.
20. Ensure product compliance with required standards.
21. Holiday/sickness cover for quality controllers.
Essential Experience
1. Proven experience of working in a similar role.
2. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
3. Understanding of technical drawings (desirable).
4. Understanding of ISOs in general but particular experience in ISO's 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (desirable).
5. Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
6. Experience of using manual measuring equipment - vernier calipers, micrometers etc.
