About the Sheldonian Theatre
The Sheldonian Theatre, dating back to the 1600s and designed by Sir Christopher Wren, is an architectural jewel in the Oxford skyline and one of the most important and historic buildings in the city. Located in the medieval city centre, it is the University’s ceremonial hall and is known as an impressive venue available to hire for concerts, events and filming. Less well known is that the Sheldonian also opens its doors to the public when possible, offering a unique opportunity for visitors from around the world to experience the elaborate auditorium with its extraordinary painted ceiling, and octagonal Cupola with its breath-taking 360° view of the city.
This is a really exciting time to join the team as they embark on a journey of developing the Sheldonian Visitor Experience.
