Credit Controller - 6 month contract - project role
£28,000 - £30,000 on a 6 month FTC
Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Start date - mid to end November 2024
3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home
Our well-established key client is very proud of their recent awards and their experienced, collaborative, talented workforce who are spread across the UK. Operating in the B2B space, they are in need of an experienced Credit Controller, initially on a 6 month contract with a view to starting this successful candidate in November. Ideal candidates will be available at short notice and be able to hit the ground running, adding value from day 1.
The successful Credit Controller will be responsible for:
* Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, working within a team of 5
* Processing all sales invoices daily, submitting as required, using customer portals, management systems, emailing, and posting.
* Reconciling customer accounts and sending statements out
* Ensuring accounts are maintained within agreed terms and credit limits
* Telephone chasing of clients with overdue invoices (mainly corporate and SME clients) to request payment
* Reporting old outstanding debt to the Credit Team Leader and communicating any potential debtor issues
* Indicating to the Group Credit Manager when legal action is required to resolve issues
* Handling all customer queries, assisting with discrepancies in a timely manner, sending copy invoices, credit notes, and maintaining proof of delivery while ensuring company confidentiality
* Liaising with different departments within the business to help resolve any issues
* Processing and managing high volumes of data, using Excel skills to gather data and information
* Keeping a record of customer accounts, listing payment terms, contact details, invoicing instructions, and discounts if applicable
* Maintaining records of debtors, actual and expected income, and creating reports for management
* Maintaining a database of customer information on Excel and NetSuite, updating when required, and setting up customer files
* Working closely with the accounts team, keeping records up to date, processing payments, assisting with month-end processes, filing, and answering telephones
* Performing ad hoc duties and covering for other staff members
The successful Credit Controller will offer:
* Recent experience gained from working in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent negotiation skills along with a professional telephone manner and customer service skills, with the ability to explain financial matters to non-technical colleagues
* Good spoken and written communication skills, assertiveness in a professional manner, organized and methodical approach, and ability to work to strict deadlines
* Significant numerical knowledge and advanced skills in MS Excel and Word
* Able to work well independently or within a team, with an innovative mindset to identify areas for improvement and development
* Reliability, approachability, high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to quickly adapt to new systems and procedures
Our Aylesbury client can move quickly on interviews and onboarding, and ideally, you will be available at short notice to commence this role. There may be potential longer-term opportunities available for the right candidate.
