Job summary Are you a compassionate and experienced nurse seeking a dynamic role in oncology care? Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated team at Musgrove Park Hospital. You may need work at Yeovil District Hospital on occasion if required. This post is a band 7 position but experienced band 6 SACT nurses who are willing to undertake the training required to fulfil the role may be considered for a developmental post. Main duties of the job As a SACT Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver expert care and support to patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer treatment. Working collaboratively across hospital and community settings, you'll provide specialist advice, holistic patient-centered care, and lead on service development to enhance patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Manage complex clinical situations with confidence and autonomy. Conduct nurse-led clinics, including oncology pre-assessment and SACT administration. Prescribe or oversee treatment adjustments as an independent prescriber. Act as an advocate, mentor, and educator to patients, carers, and colleagues. Lead service improvements and clinical audits to ensure the highest standards of care. Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families during their cancer journey.
