This role plays a leading role in the delivery of System Planning and Performance within the Business support function. The post-holder will produce and provide effective communication of a meaningful picture of the organisation's position using a wide variety of data and intelligence. An expert in data literacy, the post-holder will use datasets from across a range of stakeholders, and produce coherent reports and analytical insights that demonstrate clearly and concisely the findings and position of the organisation. The post-holder will use appropriate and effective statistical methods and data visualisation, complemented with insightful commentary, which is actionable for the organisation's business and can be used to build Strategic, Clinical and Operational decisions upon.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide insight and analysis to improve the way the BSW system utilises data and information to support decision-making and performance improvement.
2. Lead the analytical delivery to key BSW boards, including deep dive analysis and production of regular analytical outputs.
3. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake investigative performance monitoring analysis, including activity trends, forecasting, sensitivity and variance analysis, and other statistical methods and tools.
4. Utilise a range of presentational skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualisation tools in the production and dissemination of analyses to ensure appropriate and effective dissemination of intelligence and insight.
5. Present information and issues, explaining highly complex issues, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, particularly interpreting data to provide advice to non-analytical specialists.
6. Contribute to the submission of short, medium, and long-term business plans, providing actionable insight to support the delivery of measurable and deliverable outcomes.
7. Lead on testing, development, implementation, and evaluation of new information management systems and tools.

BSW ICB have adopted agile working, meaning the successful applicant will predominantly be working from home but may be requested to work in any one of the ICB's office bases across BaNES, Swindon, and Wiltshire. You will also have a contractual base within the BSW ICB office where your team is based.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Training and Experience
* In-depth specialist knowledge of information analysis and the use of information across the NHS acquired through a degree or equivalent.
* Evidence of continued professional development and additional specialist knowledge acquired through training and relevant experience to Master's degree level or equivalent.
* Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel, SQL; statistical packages knowledge desirable.
* Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments with an understanding of project principles and application.
* Strong understanding of data visualisation and experience of producing automated reports using reporting tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
* A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.
* Experience of informing, supporting, and influencing key operational and strategic decisions.
* Member of a relevant professional body.

* Ability to understand end-user requirements and communicate statistical and analytical matters to non-analytical professionals. Experience of communicating conclusions drawn from analyses and implications of results.
