Avionic Braking and Steering Control Systems Engineer
Contract: Initial 6-month contract
Location: Hybrid working from Bristol
Rate: Up to £60 per hour
Key Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in aerospace systems or landing gear
Strong understanding of processes and requirements (V&V)
Experience in systems equipment design or investigation
Proactive and committed approach to work
Stakeholder management experience, including subcontractor management (desirable)
Test result analysis experience (beneficial)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop technical solutions
Ensure Design Review deliverables meet certification requirements
Implement best practices and apply lessons learned from previous programs
Support V&V planning throughout the design lifecycle
Investigate and resolve in-service technical issues, producing relevant documentation
Effectively manage stakeholders and communicate project updates
Identify and mitigate risks, while leveraging opportunities for improvement
Support digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational reliability
Clearly and effectively communicate with team members and external partners
Essential Skills:
5-10 years of experience in Landing Gear Systems Engineering
Ability to manage short-term service queries and long-term technical investigations
Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and technical approach
Experience mentoring junior engineers
Ability to manage subcontractors when required
