American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability.
AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises.
Job Summary
To provide high-quality care to all patients. To assist in directing staff in the support of the care of our patients.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality patient care.
* Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for complaint and condition of the patient.
* Ensure all charts are filled out and medical records are completed in a timely fashion.
* Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, patient management and treatment.
* Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
* Process biological specimens when needed.
* Analyze and interpret lab studies and reports.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
* Board Certified/Board Eligible – Emergency Room, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine (w/ER or UC experience).
* Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family.
* Confident in suturing, splinting, minor office procedures, x-ray reads, treating all ages.
* Professional appearance and attitude.
* DOT Certification, preferred. If not DOT-certified, applicant willing to become DOT certified (employer will pay for training).
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
* Active and current medical licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required.
* Ability to multi-task and work independently.
