Membership & Adoptions Assistant This is a key role working as part of our busy, visitor-facing Membership & Adoptions team. As a Membership & Adoptions Assistant you will: Sell membership and adoptions face to face with customers in a polite and efficient manner in order to meet our annual sales targets. Check and secure cash taken through the till (balance/cash up the days takings and secure in safe). Process the administration involved in selling membership and adoptions (data in-put, post, emails, online applications, telephone payments). Monitoring literature & stock including stationery and adoption images. Talking to customers whilst they are queuing for the membership office to answer questions, assist and offer advice. Supporting new seasonal staff to ensure all aspects of the job role are understood and carried out efficiently. What makes Chester Zoo a great place to work? Have good communication skills and be confident taking membership details and payments over the telephone. Have a good standard of education, including a GCSE (or equivalent) in maths and English. Have experience of using tills, including cash and credit card transactions. Have previous sales and general administration experience. Be confident and experienced in Microsoft Office & databases. Have strong organisational skills. Have an eye for detail and accuracy. Have experience of supporting colleagues in their role. Although not essential, the following would be desirable: An understanding of GDPR. Knowledge of how the zoo works generally. Experience of using CRM systems.
