We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join a reputable high-street law firm in Sheffield. This position in the Private Client team will involve providing vital administrative and secretarial support to a busy department. Key Responsibilities:
1. Typing letters, emails, file notes, and preparing documents for the assigned fee earner.
2. Managing dictation requests and accurately transcribing notes and information.
3. Handling telephone inquiries and responding on behalf of the Private Client department.
4. Drafting legal documents such as Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), and other relevant materials as needed.
5. Managing and organizing documentation, including conducting ID checks and processing paperwork.
6. Communicating with clients, solicitors, and experts when the fee earner is unavailable, both in person and over the phone.
7. Organizing and coordinating client appointments and meetings.
8. Managing the daily workload of your fee earner, ensuring all tasks are handled efficiently and deadlines are met.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, particularly within a Private Client department, is preferred.
2. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting.
3. Proficient in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to solve problems efficiently.
7. A high level of discretion and understanding of confidentiality when handling sensitive client information.
8. Familiarity with the legal landscape and regulations in Doncaster is an advantage.
