Job Description: Fleet Manager DPA/CSO
A leading UK superyacht management company is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager DPA/CSO due to growth in the managed fleet.
Role Overview: Operating as part of the yacht management department, the Fleet Manager will work directly with clients, yacht Captains, yacht Owners, and their representatives, along with colleagues within the organization. The role is suitable for candidates currently working in a similar yachting role or transitioning from the commercial or cruise sector.
Responsibilities:
1. Fulfill the role of Company DPA/CSO.
2. Attend vessels as the company Lead Auditor and manage the audit team as required.
3. Schedule and manage audits and inspections with the vessel management team.
4. Oversee safety, environmental, and pollution prevention aspects of vessel operations, ensuring adequate resources and shore support.
5. Ensure vessel compliance with Class and Flag certifications.
6. Manage the vessel management team, including maintenance and monitoring of the Safety Management System and vessel documentation.
7. Monitor changes to legislation and best practices related to DPA/CSO responsibilities.
8. Oversee recording and management of observations, NCRs, accident reports, near misses, meeting minutes, and hours of rest.
9. Supervise defect reports and their closure.
10. Communicate with Flag Administrations and Classification Societies regarding observations, NCRs, and accident reports.
11. Coordinate surveys and audits with relevant authorities.
12. Work closely with the Captain to manage documents and information effectively.
13. Monitor and review the Safety Management System annually, making updates to ensure it remains current and industry-compliant.
Additional Details: This is an office-based role with travel requirements. Preference is for candidates local to North East UK; however, a relocation package is available for an outstanding candidate.
